![]() ![]() Although it’s the next entry into the Divinity universe and RPG series, it’s actually a prequel to Divine Divinity, the 2002 PC based RPG from Larian Studios. Gameplayĭivinity: Original Sin is a role playing game concerning two main heroes, one of which is a warrior previously bound in chains for unknown reasons, and a female heroine that has been resurrected. ![]() ![]() The KickStarter campaign reached its goal on April 23th of 2013 raising over one million dollars of additional funds once all pledges (including those made via PayPal) were taken into consideration. This was done with the intent of securing more funding to expand the content in the game and increase the level of interactivity of the game’s world. While Divinity: Original Sin was still in development, a KickStarter crowd funding campaign was started on March 27th of 2013. This will likely be decided by sales numbers which are expected to be high. Additional translations and localizations may be added at a later date. The game is currently localized for various regions, including: English, French, German, Polish and Russian. When the Linux and Mac versions are completed and ready for release, anyone with a PC version of the game will be entitled to a free copy of the game on both Mac and Linux systems. This is because although the game was originally intended to release on PC and Mac devices at the same time, the decision was made to make a Linux compatible version which, according to developers would not be difficult.īoth Mac and Linux versions were eventually delayed so that a focus on gameplay could be adopted, presumably to ensure a quality product upon launch. This has since been changed to a somewhat later date of February 28th of 2013. They had intended to do this before with other titles, but the publishers that they were working with at the time would always prevent this and stop them from doing so. This is one of the rare opportunities for Larian Studios where they got to make a turn based game. There is no specific date available for the beginning of the development period for Divinity: Original Sin, but what we do know is that the game was originally set to release at some time between October and November of 2013.
